To provide seamless electricity supply often D.G. set is used from private / public buildings, industrial firm and commercial firm buildings. These D.G. sets are in the capacity of MW to KW. In the case of rooftop solar photovoltaic power installation on the roofs of such buildings the energy produced by these plants can be used by consumers in the building and in the case of surplus energy it can be injected into the grid.
From Grid connected rooftop Solar PV Power Plant work can be done on the basis of net metering . Consumers can make payment to Discom according to the net meter reading. State policy of Rooftop Solar Power Plant for setting up rooftop solar power plant on Individual, institutional and government buildings has been promulgated in 2014-15. Installation of total 20 MW grid connected Solar Power Plant is targeted till the operation period of the policy March 2017.
Installation of Grid connected Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant will be promoted by the state government for captive use / self consumption. This rooftop solar power plant will be based on Net Energy Metering / Net Energy Billing method.
By Government / public institutions a certain percentage of their annual electricity consumption, installation of rooftop solar Photovoltaic Power Plant will be made and electricity produced by Solar Power Plant will be self consumed .
By Government / public institutions at least 25 percent area of the chair area of its office building will be used for the installation of rooftop solar Photovoltaic Power Plant.
Survey has been conducted for installation of Rooftop Solar Power Plant in Government buildings of Allahabad, Kanpur and Lucknow. To determine the benchmark rates for Firms shall be empanelled through bidding for the installation of Power Plant in government buildings and for installation of Solar Power Plant in private buildings.
A proposal has been sent to approve the regulations to U.P. Electricity Regulatory Commission.
