Under the Uttar Pradesh Solar Energy Policy-2022, there is a provision to install Solar Power Pack plants under the Decentralized Distributed Generation (DDG) program to solarize the houses located in remote, far-flung, and unelectrified areas/hamlets of the state for off-grid solar applications. Under this, solar power packs are provided to such remotely located houses where grid electricity supply is not possible by U.P. Power Corporation Ltd., thereby solarizing those houses. In the past years, Unelectrified houses located in unelectrified remote villages of the districts of the state such as Bahraich, Kushinagar, Gonda, Shravasti, Sonbhadra, Balrampur, Maharajganj, etc., have been solarized. A Solar Power Pack plant consists of a 200-watt solar panel, 12 Volt 80 A.H. Lithium-Ferro-Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, 5 LED luminaires, one 20-watt DC ceiling fan, and one mobile charging plug point. The plant is installed with a 5-year comprehensive warranty and annual maintenance. The rate of one plant including all taxes was Rs. 37,941.00 only for the financial year 2024-25.
For the financial year 2025-26, a new tender has been invited for the work of Solar Power Pack plants. The details of the plants installed under the scheme in past years are as follows:-
